The Main Parameters of the Infrared Thermal Imager

The Main Parameters of the Infrared Thermal Imager

Jun 17,2022
As a typical high-end practical device, with the continuous improvement of the manufacturing process, the performance of thermal imaging cameras in all aspects has been significantly improved today. Here I will systematically introduce the main parameters of the infrared thermal imager.

1. The frame rate of the infrared thermal imager

Frame rate refers to the number of images that an infrared camera can capture, process, and display in one second. The faster the camera sensor response and the higher the processing speed of the internal circuitry, the higher frame rates can be achieved. High frame rate thermal imaging cameras are suitable for capturing the temperature field distribution of high-speed objects. More suitable for scientific research and military research.

2. Pixel array and pixel pitch

Current infrared thermal imaging image detectors are uncooled focal plane detectors. During production, it is machined on vanadium oxide or polysilicon material into arrays of sensor cells with a certain distance between each cell.

3. Temperature measurement accuracy

Accuracy refers to the percentage of the ratio of the maximum temperature error of the thermal imager to the range of the instrument when the thermal imager calibrates the environment, temperature, humidity, distance, and emissivity.

4. Display method

Display mode usually means that the display of the thermal imager screen can be black and white or false color.

5. Temperature measurement range

For an infrared thermal imager, during normal operation, there is always a certain temperature measurement range, that is, the range of the minimum and maximum temperature values of the measured temperature.

6. Temperature resolution

The temperature resolution specifically refers to an important parameter index that measures the sensitivity of the infrared thermal imager and the detector to the temperature change of the measured object. The smaller the temperature resolution, the better the thermal imaging camera performance. The measurement and determination of temperature resolution should be carried out under specific conditions.

7. Scanning system and longest working time

These are two parameters that people often overlook. The former refers to the national standard TV system, the PAL system. The latter refers to the continuous working time allowed by the thermal imaging camera.

The above briefly describes the main parameters of the infrared thermal imager. If you want to know more or want to buy an infrared thermal imager, please contact us.
